Now, last week some of you read in our e-news that we at the Henderson County Democratic Party could use a few bucks … and a few of you asked WHY.  Good question.  One thing I can guarantee you is that we will not be buying any corporate jets.  But seriously … just because the election is over, we still have to keep things ticking over in our office here in Hendersonville, and it takes us about $1000 each month for that to happen.  So … PLEASE, if you can, give us some of your lonely greenbacks hiding at the bottom your purse or wallet.

And now for your little bit of political Zen …  

Moneygall (weird name, we know) is a small village in County Offaly, Ireland.  It has a population of around 300 people, a Roman Catholic church, five shops, a post office, a national school, a police station, and (of course) two pubs.  The great-great-great grandfather (the Irish have long memories) of President Obama (or is that O’Bama), a fine gentleman by the name of Falmouth Kearney emigrated from Moneygall to New York City at the age of 19 in 1850, and eventually resettled in Tipton County, Indiana.  Kearney’s father had been the village, which was what passed for professional in those days.

So … apart from this being an interesting factoid, which proves that everyone in America is really Irish, where is all this leading?  To the SONG of course.  So, click here, put you volume on max, blast it out, and disturb your GOP neighbors.
